Monthly Me - March 2016

You may have noticed I've been sort of awol lately. I've been prepping for the Geek Craft Expo, which is taking up a lot of time. I've been feeling sick--February is never a good month, physically. I've been catching up on shop orders and dealing with two separate issues with supplies.

I haven't written anything.

I have gotten mostly GF again, and I feel worlds better. I've been looking for ways to build the life I want to live, since sitting here hating the life I have isn't productive, and is getting to be an actual block on both writing and creating, which I've built my life on. I feel like the year starts in the winter for a reason, and that helps us slow down, rest, focus inward, and figure out what we want to do with the rest of the year when everything is bright and full of movement.

But now, it's been 70* for several days, and even though we have at least one more cold front lined up (good thing I didn't buy those tomato babies I was looking at in the store!), the world is waking up, putting out new shoots, getting ready to make flowers and leaves, and I'm waking up and getting ready to get back into my life.

March feels like a month of experimentation and discovering new things.
  • I'll be planting the garden soon.
  • I'll be looking for income opportunities so I can live on my own and be more productive.
  • I'll be working on getting back to my sunny-days schedule and getting out of the sleepy slowness of winter.
  • I'll be catching up with friends.
  • I'll be planning out future projects.
  • I'll be getting back on track with everything that fell away at the end of last year and into the winter months.
This happens every year, and it's just a little slower this year because my health has been so bad and my stress has been so high. But it feels good to get moving again, to shake off the moss that's grown and start being myself again!

Because of the Geek Craft Expo taking up so much of my time, I'm having trouble getting Beacon edited, so to keep my own stress level down, I've moved the launch back to the second slot in June--I'll be launching Incidental Twin as a physical shop at cons instead of publishing a new novel! That gives me several more months to make Beacon as good as I know it can be, and pushes back The Ember And The Sea to September, where I feel like it'll work better anyway. I'll try to have other, smaller writing projects out to make up for the delay, but I've got to go where the muse (and the situations of my life) lead me, and that's toward the nail polish business right now!

How're you guys doing this month? What're your plans for March?
